Celebrating the reopening of the Tioga Movie Theater with a $10,000 donation

Tioga, ND, September 30, 2021 - The Tioga Theater welcomed guests on Friday, September 10 for the first time since mid-March 2020, and The Bank of Tioga was excited to help celebrate the reopening with a donation of $10,000.

There have been limited, small events over the last year at the Tioga Theater, however, the need for volunteers and donations continues. During the closure timeframe it did allow for many theater remodel projects to occur. 

The Bank of Tioga was very proud to be able to support various construction projects including the lobby remodel and renovated restrooms. Additionally, the bank has allocated $5,000 of this recent gift to help kick start the next renovation of refurbishing the theatre seating.

Helping promote rural economic development and quality of life amenities is important to any community leader, including The Bank of Tioga.

“To have shared experiences, in a shared space without having to travel far from home is truly a win-win,” said Joy Sparks Tioga Theatre board member and volunteer, “As a volunteer and a bank employee I am so glad to be part of this comeback, as well as for all the good, movie popcorn!”

Collectively since 2015, The Bank of Tioga has given over $21,000 to the Tioga Theater. The Bank of Tioga reinvests 10% of its net income annually; hosting educational events, partnering with local nonprofits and helping teach financial literacy.
